Lower the temperature with these tips.
Although no surface remains completely cool under prolonged sun exposure, there are solutions for artificial grass that help significantly improve comfort during the hottest months and thereby reduce the temperature.
1. Choose a light-toned artificial grass.
One of the factors that most influences surface temperature is the color of the fiber. Lighter shades absorb less solar radiation than darker greens, and therefore reach lower temperatures during the hours of peak sunlight.
At Best Garden, we recommend models in light shades—especially for gardens and pool areas highly exposed to the sun—such as:
These models offer a very natural look and help improve comfort during the summer thanks to their lower heat absorption.

2. Apply Fillingrass®
In addition to choosing the right type of grass, another highly effective solution is the application of Fillingrass®, a mineral infill designed to improve the thermal performance of artificial grass.
Its use offers various advantages:
- It helps reduce the surface temperature of the turf.
- Improves comfort when walking barefoot.
- It promotes the recovery of the fibers.
- It increases surface stability.
Therefore, for projects particularly exposed to sunlight, we generally recommend combining light-toned turf with the application of Fillingrass® to achieve better thermal performance.
3. Incorporate shaded areas
Pergolas, awnings, trees, or shade sails help significantly reduce the garden’s temperature during the hottest part of the day.
4. Cool the lawn with water.
On the hottest days, a light watering allows the surface temperature to drop quickly, making it more comfortable to enjoy the garden.
5. Obtain technical advice
Every garden has unique conditions regarding orientation, usage, and sun exposure. That is why, at Best Garden, we conduct a personalized site visit to recommend the turf model and installation system best suited to each project.
