1. Check:
There are 2 preliminary checks to be made on a terrace, balcony or attic, before laying artificial grass, as we have been discussing:
- That they have the appropriate slope and drain to remove rainwater.
- The surface for placement must be smooth and clean.

2. Measure:
After checking these 2 points, the entire area of the terrace where the artificial grass is to be installed will be measured in detail.

3. Place:
In this step, we proceed to place the rolls of synthetic grass on the floor of our terrace. Once they are spread out, we will cut the different areas we need, skirting around any obstacles.

4. Join:
The result should be smooth, meaning the individual pieces of artificial grass shouldn’t be visible on the terraces. To ensure a uniform look, we use joining strips to connect the different pieces and prevent gaps.

5. Set:
Now we need to fix the artificial grass to our terrace floor surface; we can do this with 2 products:
Adhesive. We recommend using a special adhesive for fixing artificial grass. The adhesive should be applied in small amounts around the entire perimeter.
Polyurethane tape. If you want to preserve the floor and prevent any damage, double-sided polyurethane tape should be used for installation. This provides a secure hold and ensures good preservation of your floor.

6. Sand or fill:
Adding sand or infill to artificial grass on terraces, balconies, or rooftops is not essential, although it is always recommended to better preserve the material.
In gardens and larger spaces, it is very necessary that the artificial grass contains a special type of sand, for better fixation and a better temperature balance of the grass.
Sand helps combat high temperatures in summer and retains moisture for longer.
If you use sand on your terrace, you should sprinkle and brush it so that it is dispersed and placed evenly across the artificial grass layer.
What maintenance and lifespan does artificial grass on terraces require?
It depends a lot on the chosen range, but the average lifespan of artificial grass on terraces, balconies and attics is about 8 years.
Therefore it is a good option to decorate your home with a touch of nature, dressing your floors with cheerful green.
Maintenance is minimal, you only need to brush the areas that are most frequently used from time to time in case the filaments have moved.
